So most wedding's I document I don't know the bride or groom too well beforehand. I met with Carly and Kelly (her maid of honor) several months before the wedding to see if they liked me and my work and wanted to hire me as the wedding photographer. Upon booking me we discovered that I actually knew her fiancé (now husband) from college! Small world! To say the least their wedding was a blast and it was great to be around old friends.
